The Roots that Grew Deep
The roots that grew deep
Carved through my heart
Covered in thorns that tore me apart
The roots that grew deep
Spread over years
They flourished with pride, fed by my tears
The roots that grew deep
Unearthed with care
He revealed they did not belong there
The roots that grew deep
He asked to take
When I said yes, He fought for my sake

In the Garden
In the garden
I no longer run
I bask in the beauty, Father, Spirit, Son
In the garden
I rest weary feet
I am held in the hands that made me complete

Love Anyway
What shapes a person?
Is it the memories that never leave?
The ones you hide in the back of your mind
The moments you failed or let yourself down
The times of pain that knocked you to the ground and held you there
Is it the knowledge you've learned by time?
Why and how to move on in your life
To pick yourself up and brush off the scars
To allow the wound to hurt and be seen so it may heal
Or is it the spirit that lives inside?
The one that chooses to fight or give in
To use the knowledge you have learned to not just move on but to move through
To live and love knowing your heart will break
And choosing to survive
Choosing to LOVE anyway.

A Searching Soul
Why do we crave people so much?
Just one person who would let you bare your soul and not judge you for your words.
Someone to see the pain you hold in your heart and ask you to tell them all.
How lonely it is that no one notices the pain when you allow it to flash across your eyes for a few moments.
But to whom can you bare your soul?
When choosing this fellow heart, be cautious.
Let it be someone who truly loves you.
